Armenian servicemen did not cross Azerbaijan’s border: Armenia MOD refutes Azeri allegations
Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense spread regular misinformation, according to which in the evening of June 1, 40 Armenian servicemen crossed the Azerbaijani border “forcing the sub-divisions of the Azerbaijani armed forces return them to starting positions,” Armenia’s Ministry of Defense reports.
“Obviously, the military-political leadership of Azerbaijan is circulating suchlike misinformation to create impression among the international community about the attempts of the Armenian armed forces to escalate the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and to counterbalance the May 12, 13 provocation of the Azerbaijani armed forces and incursion to Armenia’s territory,” Armenia MOD said in a statement.
The ministry reported that the Armed Forces of Armenia have not crossed the Azerbaijani border neither on June 1 nor on previous days and all the allegations about it are simply misinformation spread by the defense agency of that country and the volume of this misinformation has grown significantly recently.
“In particular, days ago Azerbaijani MOD was claiming that the Armenian side allegedly opened fire on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border as well in the direction of Azerbaijani positions in Shushi which was rejected accordingly by Armenia’s MOD and commandership of Russian peacekeeping troop in the Republic of Artsakh,” Armenia MOD said in the statement.
