Universal Postal Union annuls Armenophobic stamps issued by Azerbaijan
Universal Postal Union has made a decision not to register “Azerbaijan 2020” postal stamps issued by that country.
Armenia’s High Technological Industry Ministry reports that according to the Union, the stamps contradict the relevant provisions of the Union’s Convention and Code of Conduct.
The Union applied to Azerbaijan to revise the issuing of the stamps.
The decision of the Union was made after Armenia’s High Tech Industry and Foreign Affairs Ministries applied to it, stating that the stamps issued by Azerbaijan contain evident hatred against Armenians and propagates Armenophobia.
In response the Universal Postal Union directorate informed the Armenian side about the abovementioned decision.
