Odzun community head beaten in Lori governor's office for supporting Kocharyan in elections: Armenian Human Rights Defender’s office to send letter to Attorney General's Office
Head of the "Armenia" bloc headquarter Armen Gevorgyan applied to Armenian Human Rights Defender reporting that head of Odzun community of Lori Province Arsen Titanyan was summoned to governor’s office where the governor demanded from him to write resignation application, Ombudsman’s office reported.
According to Armen Gevorgyan, the head of the community refused to do it for what the governor, at the presence of 7-8 people, beat Titanyan.
The head of the headquarter noted that it his conviction that the demand was obviously illegal and was accompanied with threats.
Gevorgyan also stressed that Titanyan's beating is directly tied with supporting "Armenia" bloc at the early parliamentary elections.
Human Rights Defender's staff immediately contacted Odzun community head who said he was giving a report about crime at the Police.
The Human Rights Defender's Office will send letter to the Attorney General's Office regarding the mentioned complaint and the incident.
