Armenia's second president Robert Kocharyan not to accept parliamentary mandate
Armenia's second president, leader of "Armenia" bloc Robert Kocharyan will not accept the parliamentary mandate.
Kocharyan said about it in a statement issued on Monday evening.
"Today official representative of "Armenia" bloc Aram Vardevanyan submitted to the CEC the application on my decision to reject the mandate. It appeared that there was time when I was deputy of both Artsakh and Armenia's parliaments but with my character I am more a person of executive power. I am sure that now it is more right to concede my place to my teammates each of who, I am sure, will become a good deputy. With this step I also express my consent to thousands of teammates who conveyed me the opinion that after posts of presidents of Artsakh and Armenia I should not be attracted with the parliamentary mandate. Finally, I received the votes as bloc's candidate for PM's post," Kocharyan said in the statement, adding that not going to the NA does not mean leaving the struggle.
"The faction is the bloc's presence in the NA, and I continue being the leader of the bloc and with everyday work I will contribute to our expected victories. I am sure, everything will be all right," the statement said.
