Number of coronavirus cases to continue growing in Armenia – deputy minister
Armenia is recording growing number of coronavirus cases, Armenia's acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the cabinet sitting today, stressing that for the past two days over 200 cases have been reported.
Deputy Minister of Health Lena Nanushyan said they are recording tendency of certain growth of the cases in the recent days.
"This week we passed the 200. Yesterday 220 cases were recorded, today we already have 225. According to our forecasts, the growth tendency will continue during the upcoming days as well," she said.
Nanushyan stressed that 3,790 people are currently getting treatment, of which 606 in hospitals.
"The condition of 282 is grave, the condition of 48 is severely grave," she said.
The deputy minister urged the population to be sober, adding that the situation with the pandemic in the region is rather tense.
"In the countries were the vaccinations reach high percentage the hospitalizations and deaths are recorded among non-vaccinated people," Nanushyan said, urging the people to get vaccinated.
Nikol Pashinyan in his turn expressed hope that no "lockdowns" will be imposed in Armenia.
"But it should be done with joint efforts," he said.
