Armenian confectionery production counts a century-long history. "Grand Candy" celebrates the 100th anniversary of creation of Armenian sweets

In 1924, the confectionery production was organized at the Yerevan bakery plant.

10 years later, the Yerevan macaroni and, in 1936, caramel factories were put into operation. Later the factories were united, forming the Yerevan confectionery and macaroni factory. In 1990 the factory was completely shut down.

In 2000, on the basis of the «Armconfection» factory, businessman Hrant Vardanyan founded «Grand Candy» company, initiating reconstruction and revival of the plant , and marking the new era for the Armenian confectionery.

«Grand Candy» is a part of the group of companies of «Grand Holding», which is the leading taxpayer of production sector of RA since 2007.
Today «Grand Candy» company is one of the largest enterprises of the RA food industry. «We produce joy» - «Grand Candy» company is guided by this motto.

According to Karen Vardanyan, the current production volumes of «Grand Candy» company are incomparably higher than in the Soviet years. The quality of the company's products meets the highest international standards, thanks to which they are exported to many countries around the world.
«We are proud to be successors to the century-old traditions of Armenian confectionery» - says Karen Vardanyan.

Since 2012 «Grand Holding» has been managed by Hrant Vardanyan’s sons – Mikael and Karen Vardanyan.

Apart from being a businessman, Karen Vardanyan also implements many charity projects. He helps medical institutions, funds population reproduction programs, financially supports socially disadvantaged families, families of children with disabilities, orphanages. He also implements environmental projects.

According to Karen Vardanyan’s project and under his direct supervision, with co-financing of Mikael Vardanyan, in 2019 the Yerevan 2800th Anniversary Park was designed and built.

Karen Vardanyan lives and works in Yerevan with his wife and 3 sons, his favorite sports are football and tennis.
